http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/detail?blogid=11&entry_id=36608 Good to hear from Javon. Seems like a really classy guy, just fragile mentally and physically. Not to surprising that he took a paycut since wanted to retire and give all the money back before last season started. Now what do we do with the cap room? Khalif Barnes seems like an obvious choice, hes visiting today the the R's are supposedly working on a deal with him. That would really shore up the T spots with Henderson, Pears newly signed, and Barnes competing for the starting jobs. Gallery and Carlisle ought to have either G spot locked down. McQ can also compete for RG or T positions. C is a bit of a question mark, we don't know how much John Wade has left and Chris Morris seems useless. I'd LOVE to get Mack in the second round of this draft if available, Unger would be good too. All in all I like the way the O-line is shaping up. We should have some more money to spend after a potential Barnes signing though. TO is the hot topic now and its actually somewhat enticing. Yeah, I like the new Raiders attitude we've seen under Cable, but damn its hard to pass up on a guy like TO who could probably be had for very cheap. I just don't know if we have the locker room leadership to withstand all his bullshit. What if we do sign him then draft Crabtree (and Mack/Unger?) though? How sick does this offense look?: QB: Russell RB: McFad, Fargas, Bush FB: O'Neal LT: Henderson LG: Gallery C: Mack/Unger/Wade RG: Carlisle/McQ RT: Barnes WR: TO, Crabtree, Schilens, Johnnie Lee Higgins TE: Zach Miller Assuming TO is one a short contract, Crabtree takes over as the #1 and we still have some decent young WRs to fill in at WR with Schilens, JLH, and Shields. Other possibilities at WR would be Furrey, Toomer, Hilliard, etc. Some other options would be Tank Johnson to fill up the major DT need we have. Problem is I don't think hes that good and he might command a lot of money. We need a huge, run stuffing DT badly. We might be better off in the draft. Also Sean Jones seems like a good fit at safety. He can actually cover which we need a lot, he'd be a solid value signing.
