Jay Williams' Family Statement For Immediate Release: July 3, 2003 Williams After successful pelvis surgery and upon substantial improvements in Jay Williams' condition, the trauma doctors at Illinois Masonic Hospital decided to discharge Mr. Williams on Wednesday, July 2. At that time, he was flown to Durham, N.C. to participate in the next phase of his recovery at Duke University Medical Center. This will include necessary knee ligament surgery and rehabilitation. The Williams family wants to thank everyone in the city of Chicago and across the nation for the outpouring of support and prayers during this dramatic time. Jay's condition continues to improve and the outlook for his future looks very good.
