Hmmm. A couple of days ago, according to Jaynes, Roy was psycho. Today, he's just pouting.

    Sounds like improvement to me.

Cho is very inexperienced and has been very idle with a team below .500. Though, he likely has absolutely NO pull with this team and is merely Paul and Larry's puppet. With the lack of assets we're pretty much screwed and likely to take the long 're-build through the draft' rout.

Oh, it doesn't help that the "franchise player" is ego tripping, either.

Yeah, there's no way he could just be angry and frustrated because he can't carry this team the way he did before. It has to be because he has psychological issues or is petulant.

    Dwight ain't no Dr. Phil.

The problem is, what do you trade for? Our window isn't open any more. We thought about trading Miller for a player who works better next to Roy. We thought about trading Joel for a backup four. We're not making a deep run in the playoffs, so it may be better if we let them drop off our cap. But we don't really even know what to do because we don't know what shape the new CBA will take.

I think Jaynes just throws ideas out there so that he can go back to find the right one, disregarding the twenty other failed explanations. We saw him throw alot of different explanations for the Penn firing. Even though he does not have the ability to look at Brandon's medical record or around the lockerroom, he has now tried to explain Roy's dropoff with it being medical, OCD, then it not being medical and pouting.

Agree with your assertion in another thread that it is just not worth listening to.

i think the only answer is IF theres a trade that improves us at pg or pf... you take it without thinking twice.

miller could also be a blazer next year if we cant do any better. but trading those guys for cap relief is dumb. they come off books anyway in summer. make a run at playoffs and see what happens. this team still has talent regardless if they get booted in round 1.

There is nothing wrong with being insane. Just remember, its the people that can't handle being insane that go shoot a bunch of people that make the rest of us look bad.

I have been expecting this article. Not because I think he is pouting or faking, but because it looks like he is. One day he looks fine, and the next day he looks like he is going through the motions. If people can say it about Kobe and LeBron, then it was inevitable that they would say it about Roy. I don't know the answer, but last night he looked unsure of how he needed to help the team. Shoot or let LMA, Batum, and Wes take over. I am really pissed we lost last night. Winning with him scoring 4 pts would have been nice.

I really don't give Jaynes a lot of weight.

"Roy got the big $$ - now he is spoiled and pouting." It happens frequently enough, that it becomes an easy explanation to grab hold of. Roy bashing team-mates to the media doesn't help matters.

The sad part is, I almost hope he is right! At least this would be a fixable problem, unlike permanent knee damage.

Well the reality is, if you were Brandon Roy and if your knee's were going bad, you would probably be upset too, and yes it would be hard to deal with. I feel bad for the guy. It's completely horrible what has happened to him and this franchise. I don't think he is faking though. Nobody wants to be a failure, and the best way to get what you want, is to play so well you are an important enough piece that they listen to you.

If I were 26 and had risen to the top of a highly elite field due to working like a dog for years and I was seeing it all crumble, I'd probably not be at my best, emotionally or outward personality.

His PER is sinking like a rock. It's 15.0 now.

In the three games he's had this year with 2 or more days off, he's been just as good as the old Brandon Roy. Two of those games were on the road, one against OKC. The first one was only 3 games into the season, and the second two he'd played under 23 minutes in the prior game.

The dude is just not physically able to hack playing big minutes. Nate needs to tell Roy to STFU about how he doesn't need his minutes monitored, because he does. Severely.

I'm less concerned about him starting or not. Let him start, if that's what's good for his ego. It may help him stay limber, anyway, by not starting the game on the bench. But Nate needs to let him know he's only playing 20 minutes if there are back-to-back games, and 28 or so minutes tops. It's Arvydas Sabonis rule-time. (I went with him over Yao for the metaphor because I'm an optimist.)

The season is a marathon and Roy is still trying to sprint. (Well, metaphorically anyway. In reality he's barely trotting out there.) The team can always adjust his minutes upwards if it looks like he can handle more, but this 37 mpg nonsense is over.

One glimmer of hope on Roy in last night's game: 29 minutes played.

You lie. Not only would you be walking around smiling, but you'd also offer to give your salary back to the team.

Kinda contradicting points in that article. First he says Roy's problem might not be in his knees. Then he cites someone who says that his knees are shot. And anyone who has seen Roy run in the few weeks knows Roy's knees are done.

We have a great trading chip in Andre Miller- he's got a talent and is an expiring contract. Likewise with Camby. Which contender wouldn't want one or the other? If I'm Oklahoma, a trade for Camby would make sense. Likewise, for Orlando, imagine the alley-ops with Miller to Howard.

That said, I'm willing to be patient to see what Cho does with our assets. It does seem clear that we're not contending this year or next. That said, I'd like to see how the Batum/Matthews starting lineup does.
