<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Sunday, Kevin O'Connor confirmed what anyone who cares should know already. The Jazz are trying to trade up, and are actively talking with teams currently holding the much-coveted picks ahead of their No. 6 selection in Tuesday night's NBA Draft. Beyond that, O'Connor ? the Jazz's senior vice president of basketball operations ? would say little. No details on deals being discussed. Nada on whom Utah will pick, whether it jumps up or stands pat. Nothing on why the sky is blue, the sun shines and full moons frequently make people do very weird things. A clearer picture of just what the Jazz are facing, however, is emerging.</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
good the Jazz really need to come to nba's elite again they have been forgotten the last couple of seasons and havent done so well. They need some new players and such to turn that franchise around.
On hoopshype it syas if they trade with Portland to go to the number three spot in the draft they intend to take Deron Willimas from Illinois. I bet the Hornets are probably holding there breaths right now a Chris Paul and JR Smith back court would be a great future.
I usually don't do this but it's the night before the Draft and Espn's Draft Special is currently airing. They ran a segmet to begin the program asking Rick Bucher about the top picks. When he got to the #3 he was touting the trade between Portland and Utah.........Which he said was very close!! I'd love to see it go down. We would be assured of a quality PG at the #3. But what in the hell are we going to do with Patterson?? Tank
There are many rumours right now regarding a Portland and Utah trade. Talks are intensifying. If there was a trade, Portland would be getting Utah's 6th pick and Utah would be getting Portland's 3rd pick. Obviously, there will be some fillers in the trade, but who or what are those fillers? Portland is trying to include Ruben Patterson in the deal. If the Jazz want to complete this deal, they may have to take him. One of the rumours is Gordan Giricek, Kirk Snyder and the 6th pick for Ruben Patterson and the 3rd pick. Thoughts on this?
One thing is for certain. Any deal with Portland for the #3, won't go down until the 11th hour. They'll wait until the first two picks are done. If Bogut and M. Williams are gone then they'll deal. They'd take williams in a New York minute if for some strange reason Atlanta should take one of the PG's. They know they've got Utah over the barrel, and they'll wait until the last minute to see if another team will pay more. In short, PDX is in the driver's seat. Portland is sure to want to include Patterson in any deal they make. If the Jazz would agree to that, I'd waive him immediately if I didn't have another team interested. Patterson has said he won't report if he's dealt to the Jazz. That might be the best of all scenarios. If he doesn't report, suspend him. Then you don't have to pay him. In any case, if It's my money, I don't want the moron around. He's a thug! A common criminal, nothing more. If we can't get it done without him in the deal, let's pick at 36 and 327 and forget it!
