<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Late in April, ESPN.com draft analyst Chad Ford suggested existence of a rather strong link tying the Jazz with Duke shooting guard J.J. Redick.
"From what we hear," Ford wrote then, "owner Larry Miller is in love with J.J. Redick.
For that reason," he added, "I think it will be hard for Miller and the Jazz to pass on Redick if he's on the board" when Utah picks at No. 14 overall in the June 28 NBA Draft.
    Flash forward, to late May.
It was last Tuesday ? before the franchise held its annual organizational planning meetings late this week ? and Redick was in town to audition for Jazz brass, coaches and scouts.
Miller's purported fondness for Redick was mentioned; basketball operations senior vice president Kevin O'Connor chuckled.
"I can say this: Larry," O'Connor with a shake of his head, "has never said anything to me about J.J. Redick."
Ford, incidentally, isn't as enamored as he asserts Miller is with the notion of a possible Jazz-Redick marriage.
"Although the Jazz would love his 3-point shooting," Ford wrote, "Redick doesn't do any of the other things (coach) Jerry Sloan demands.
"What the Jazz really need is a big, athletic 2-guard who can create his own shot off the dribble. (Washington's Brandon) Roy, (Villanova's Randy) Foye and Ronnie Brewer (of Arkansas) might all be better fits."</div>
