Utah Jazz Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, Kevin O?Connor, announced today that the team has signed restricted free agent Carlos Boozer to a multiyear contract. Per club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Jazz signed Boozer to an offer sheet on July 14, 2004 and under the Collective Bargaining Agreement set forth by the National Basketball Association, the Cleveland Cavaliers had 15 days to match the offer. The Cavaliers did not match the offer within the allotted time frame allowing the Jazz to sign Boozer. </div> Link C: Okur PF: Boozer SF: Kirilenko SG: Giricek PG: Arroyo I can't wait!
Cept I want to see Snyder replace Giricek during mid-season for the rest of the season. I know I'm aiming high but hey nothing wrong with being optimistic...
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">C: Okur PF: Boozer SF: Kirilenko SG: Giricek PG: Arroyo I can't wait! </div> Gordon Giricek? What about Matt Harpring?
Matt Harpring is injured and he will be on the IR or IL list whatever it is for atleast the start of the season and considering his age and the new talent on the team he wont be a starter and if he is he's gonna give a lot of minutes to Raja Bell, Kirk Snyder and Gordan Giricek. I hope Snyder moves into the starting role after allstar break. That lineup looks real good hopefully they stick to overacheiving like they always do, do you guys think this is a title contender team?
Our Backcourt's pretty good, we also have Harpring, Bell, Snyder, Williams, and Lopez to back them up. We just dont have one All-star, we have an Olympian, some excellent role players, and some good back up players, and two very promising young rookies.
Utah's frontcourt will obviously be their strong point, AK, Boozer and Okur will be a very nice frontcourt trio. Their backcourt isn't bad either, Arroyo had a very good season last year and ran the offense well, Giricek turned out to be a good pick-up who provided instant offense. Even though the Jazz lost Matt Harping to a season ending injury they still managed to stay in playoff contention and only missed out by 2 games. God knows what Sloan can do with the extra talent. I see them as a sure playoff team.
