August 1, 2004 -- Aaron Goodwin, agent for Jamal Crawford, contends progress has been made since Tuesday's Windy City Summit between Isiah Thomas and Bulls GM John Paxson that ended with no deal. "I'm a little frustrated, but it will get better," Goodwin told The Post. "They're still talking. Chicago wants the perfect deal. We're trying to make them accept a very good one." A source said the teams have moved beyond the Moochie Norris issue. Isiah has insisted on Norris in the package, feeling his contract is akin to a player entering his final year. Isiah is paying for much of the first year by adding $3 million, while the third and final year is not guaranteed. Goodwin also said Vin Baker should re-sign with Knicks tomorrow. His wage is expected to begin at $3M. if vin baker re sign wit the knicks 2morrow then i have a feelin that jc will be a knicks by the end of this week

Mabye he will be included in the package to get crawford or mabye he will be the player they need to have resigned because there planning on trading thomas or someone who knows. I seriously hope they dont trade thomas he is the most under rated NY Knicks player there is. He averages a double double and is almost never injured yet isiah is always tring to move him. He is a good rebounder and defender and a very tough guy inside I hope he is not traded for the knicks sake. If I am the bulls I am gona push hard to try and get him included in the deal since he is a very talented player and could teach chandler and curry alot. I dont know why they would want baker and moochi if I am the bulls since there team is filled with guards and power forwards. So it seems like either way a JC trade to NY will happen before training camp starts and isiah will get what he wants. Though I havent heard from walker yet this past week wonder if he is still going to new york. Then he is tring to also get dampier from the warriors may be a good off season for the knicks after all. TYhey should'nt give up to much for crawford though since he doesnt shoot a good percentage and imo is not that great a player.
I dont know what the Knicks plans are for Baker but I hope its not to replace Kurt Thomas at the 4/5 spot incase they have to trade KT away ,that would make no sense imo. Vin Baker isnt stable enuff to trust with a strating spot at this point in his career. If Vin Baker falls off the like he did in Boston then the Knicks frontline is totally screwed. After Kurt Thomas & Mike Sweetney, the Knicks Power Forward and Center spots are filled with a bunch of washups & cast offs, Harrington, Mutombo, Baker, etc. If the Knicks trade Kurt thomas without getting a decent bigman in return then there frontline will have to many holes for them to improve on the season they had during the 2nd half last year. I would not trade Kurt Thomas for a guard especially when they have Steph, which automatically makes their backcourt the strongest part of their team. The Knicks need to give up the Jamal Crawford dream already and focus all their resources on obtaining some legit frontline help.
Both Baker and Crawford will be nice additions to the Knicks but Im not sure how Crawford and Marbury can co-exist together...both of them are scoring guards who need the ball to be effective...
