What are you confused about? This was debated amongst us when Mikki signed. I said I didn't think Smith or Gooden would get waived, and you said I was a big dummy. You were right.
I hated the Moore signing too and now it's gonna suck seeing the Spurs pick up one of these guys... and possibly the Cavs too.
You would think they're going to release someone they're not using like Giddens and Walker, but then Scal is out with the head injury and might be out for the rest of the season.
Well of course he says that now, he has to save face here for making a stupid signing that ended up blocking a good signing.
Not his fault JE. Smith came out just before we signed Moore and said that he doesn't want to be bought out, and now on the last day he indeed gets bought out and he chooses Cleveland, which I'm pretty sure was his choice from the beginning. So like Mamba likes to say FUCK SMITH!!!!!!!!!
So tell me how, in retrospect (for you guys, even though I knew it all along), signing the useless Mikki Moore one week before we had to do anything was in any way justified.
He was the only one available. Now say that Danny would have listened to you and waited out. Moore goes somewhere else (lets say lakers), Smith signs with Cavs, Gooden with Spurs, and we end with crap. So at that point it was a great move to sign Moore, knowing that Smith had no intention of coming to Beantown.
lol wut He wasn't the only one available, he was the only one available at that point in time because no one else had been released yet! WHY DO YOU JUMP THE GUN AND SIGN THIS WASTE OF SPACE WHEN BETTER PLAYERS COULD BE BOUGHT OUT???!! You have no way of knowing if Gooden or Smith would have turned us down. Of course Smith labeled Cleveland as his first choice, the C's had no roster spots open and couldn't sign him!! Is he supposed to openly lust for Boston and publicly hope that they released somebody to make room for him? That's a slap in the face to his other suitors (the ones who actually have open roster spots), and Smith would be an absolute moron for doing that. Who gives a shit if the Lakers landed Mikki Moore? Good, let them. I would thoroughly enjoy watching our guys tear him apart in his attempts to play defense. Where are you getting this 'Smith had no intention of coming here'? Our roster was full almost a full week before the guy was released, thanks to Moore. Boston wasn't an option for him because of that.
that makes his signing a panic move by Danny who either thought Smith wasn't being bought out, or that he wasn't really coming to Boston. Instead of getting a useless scrub like Moore, I'd rather have seen Ainge wait it out.
I never disagreed with you, I just didn't think it was a big deal because we have 4 guys (KG,Perk,Baby,Powe) that are better than any of the three that became available. I also thought Ainge would have asked Sacramento and OK City if they planned to waive those guys. That is what I was apparently wrong about.
