This may be common knowledge to die hard fans but for the people that don't know, Jeff Foster's rebounding ability is top-10 material in the NBA. For the past four years, playing less than 25 minutes, he's racked up about 9 rebounds per game and consistently based on the minutes he played rebounded at the same rate as players considered superstars and elite rebounders in the league like Kevin Garnett, Ben Wallace and Dwight Howard. Foster's ability to box out his man and get in a good position to get the rebound is among the best in the NBA. He creates extra chances for his team with an offense rebounding rate of 3.3 per game, giving his team a chance for 6-12 extra points night in and night out. Foster is just a role player, will never make an all-star team, will never make an all-NBA team but as a basketball fan you have to love the things he does on the boards.
The guys that analyze statistics (using the newfangled ones) all rate him very highly. I don't know a single one of those guys who'd take, say, Eddy Curry over him.
