"Facing a very experienced and physical Florida Panthers team, the young-ish Bruins [team stats] improved as the game wore on, but fell just short in a 3-2 loss last night. "Our young guys got better as the game went on," said B's coach Claude Julien, his club now 1-1-0 in the preseason. "We were much better in the third period. That's the sign of having a young, inexperienced team. Maybe (they were) a little nervous at the beginning but we got better and better as the night went on. "We definitely missed some real quality chances to tie the game, and their goalie (Tyler Plante) made some outstanding saves. That was the difference in the third." Of course, the outcome doesn't mean anything. What mattered was that a slew of young hopefuls looked pretty good, not at all out of place. Topping that list was big winger Jeff LoVecchio, who scored the B's second goal and, in reality, the first when he tipped a shot by rookie defenseman Steven Kampfer." http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/hockey/bruins/view/20100924jeff_lovecchio_makes_points/
