This is surprising to read, I thought it was more certain Grant would stay https://bleacherreport.com/articles...meter-for-every-nba-teams-top-2023-free-agent
How dare you impugn Bleacher Report! Few teams are positioned under the cap to make JG a legit offer. Portland traded away a valuable asset to acquire him, one which I would have rather held on to. Pretty sure the decision to resign him was made prior to even dealing for him and he would have had to totally faceplanted this past season for them to change their minds. STOMP
There is no way he sits and remains silent to end the season without a deal in place. Sitting would severely crimp his negotiating leverage. Or his agents. This is a silly article with no contextual substance.
How great would it be if he left? Dame may request out and then we can start building around Sharpe and the young players Dame would bring
It would be the death of the NBA for me....not something I want to experience...Sharpe didn't have Dame's rookie season...as a matter of fact he sucked the first half pretty badly. I don't want to be the old Kings in Portland. Dame is not replaceable.
You're comparing Damian as a rookie who was 22, and had played 4 years of college ball. It's a safe bet to assume that Damian wouldn't have had Sharpes rookie year as a 19 year old with no college experience.
sure....I'm comparing a rookie to a rookie ...how they got to the dance is another story but Dame came out of the gate as a franchise level star....Sharpe did not. Sharpe is really talented...don't confuse my comparison with that....I'd trade Sharpe all day long over trading Dame at this point in his career regardless...Dame would not have been the same 4 years earlier than he was when he got here and Sharpe isn't as good as he'll be 4 years from now....that's true. Sharpe sat out a year of college ball that he could have gained experience ...fortunately Dame will get to help mold Sharpe's career as a mentor. I want to see them play together at this point
Correct, but hypothetically, Tyrese Maxie is a great alternative. Portland would also have draft capital to fill the roster quickly
what draft capital? Philly has exactly 0 first round picks available right now. After the draft, the only first they'd have to trade would be their 2030 first. They don't even have a 2nd round pick till 2027 so essentially, you're advocating for Portland to trade Dame for Tobias Harris, Maxey, and a 2030 first round pick c'mon man
