Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol I'll take JO, despite the injury problems. He really hasn't had a prob with injuries until the last few years, and he's been a solid 20/10 guy for a while now. He's even built on his range, and he can hit close to 3-pointers now. Pau has good range too, but i'm just pointing out how JO has expanded his game. IMO, JO has some of the best footwork in the nba, trailing only Tim Duncan. He is also a very good interior defender.
Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol Pau Gasol has been having a great year.He has been without a doubt the leader of the Grizzilies leading them to a 45-33 record and the 5th seed in the playoffs.He has been doing everything for them averaging 20,9,and 4.6 assists.This year since JO has been injured I'd take Gasol.Overall I think Jermaine is better.
Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol Pau Gasol for me. The guy is relentless at attacking the basket though struggles in certain matchups. He pretty much carries his team. Jermaine is an overrated offensive player though he does rebound and play defense. Gasol does to though.
Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol I'd Go with Pau Gasol1. Better Defense- Pau is a really good defender. Of course his coach is Mike Fratello so they are going to play hard nosed defense. Both O'Neal and Gasol average about .5 steals and 2 blocks a game. I think Gasol is a better one on one defender though. 2. Better Passer- Pau suprisingly averages nearly 5 assists per game compared to O'Neal's 2.5. 3. Shooting %- Pau Shoots a better % from the field. Right at 50% while O'Neal's is 46%.4. Rebounding- They both average around 9 rebounds a game, but i'm giving it to Gasol because he gets more offensive rebounds. He gets around 2. 5 a game. 5. Scoring- Niether of them have the greatest jump shots, but i think Gasol shoots the shot from the free throw line with great consistency. They both have great post games. I think Gasol is more comfortable drving the ball than O'Neal. 8. Silent Leader-You never hear him complain about his situation. Granted he hasnt had any bad team players like Ron Artest to deal with or the whole Detroit fight, but i like the fact he leads his team and doesnt complain. 7.The Beard-Gosh you got to love the Beard! Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol Pau Gasol for sure, JO is ALWAYS injured, he's not a leader. I've just never liked Jermaine O'Neal. Gasol plays tough, very good defender. He's getting 20.5ppg/9rpg/4.6apg/2bpg He's a stud.
Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol I always like JO, but he has been hampered by injuries lately and doesnt seem like the same player. On the other hand, Pau has gotten better every year and has been a very good player this season leading that Memphis team, all he needs is a haircut..

Re: Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol rebounds is part of playing defense. And anyways, JO's a much better defender than Pau.don't know if this helps my case any, but tonigth JO put up 21 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks. He has really been passing the ball well lately.
