He may be one of the best big men in the East but i think he is a tad overated. Everyone talks about him being an all-star, and top flight big man, but I don't think he is anywhere as good the other players who average 20 points and 10 rebounds. Any decent big man can average close to 10 rebounds in the east, if they play the minutes he gets. Also, he may score 20 points, but his fg% is under 45%. He has never averaged over 50% from the field. This is really really crap for a supposed big man. If you watch him play, he takes too many low percentage shots. Put him on a team in the west, where he has to play against better quality oposition on a nightly basis and his numbers will definately slide. Other players who average 20 and 10 are a helluva lot better. i.e. Duncan, Garnett, Randolph, etc...

In my opinion, he's no better than Shareff Abdur Raheem.

I dont know what you are talking about..according to Sportsline.com He is the new age Garnett..i think he has all the potential in teh world, he is an amazing athlete...now way is he overrated...he deserves all the credit he gets, how does being in the east affect him...so your saying Ben Wallace is overrated to because he is in the east?

Ben Wallace is one of the best defenders. He is also a good rebounder. But all he does is rebound and he never looks to score. He get's most of his points from tip ins. If you told someone like Duncan, Brand or Randolph to go to the east, and not too score but just rebound and defend, they could easily average over 15 boards a game.

I know that Jermain O'neil is a fantasic athlete and has tons of potential, but so does Darius Miles. I never said O'neil has a bad player. In fact, I said he was good, but not as good as everyone thinks. There is no-way you can conpare him to Garnett at the moment. Also, a big man like O'Neil should not be shooting under 45%. That's like a guard shooting under 35%.

What is wrong with just rebounding...no one said that every player has to be a scoring machine...Wallace has improved his offensive game a whole lot this year and he is scoring more, Jermaine Oneal is no way overrated what so ever..he is the best big man in the east....he would be top 5 in the west.

top big men in the L
    -Shaq
    -KG
    -Duncan
    -Brand
    -JO
    -Dirk
    -Randolph
I know i am forgetting some...that is just a list JO is in the top 5 in the league

I'm saying that O'neil is overated b/c people place him on the same level as players like KG and Duncan. He is not that good. In my opinion he is just outside the top five this season.

Also, I'd take duncan over Shaq anyday. Shaq is such a liability in the 4th quarter when the games are close that it's not funny. If the game is close, all the oposition does is foul shaq to get him to the FT line. Eventually Jacson has to sub him out. That's embarrassing for a player of his calibre.

Why are you downgradin Shaq and J'Oneal?

Look at how many blocks J O'neal gets a game...he is a top foward in the league. I'm not sure you have seen him play...

As for Shaq and Duncan thats your opinion...but anyone knows Shaq is dominate. Its true that they foul Shaq, but when it comes to Duncan, you never seen them double team?

How is that embarrassing, he cant shoot free throws, he broke both of his wrists...his hands are so huge and it is hard to shoot that ball for him, i dont find that embarrassing, i wouldnt take duncan over shaq yet either, Shaq is still the most dominant player in the game, that is why he gets doubled and tripled team. Jermaine Oneal is not overrated, he is on the same level as KG and Duncan, he might not be better than them but he is on the same level. if your taking about this season...who are the top 5?

    -KG
    -Duncan
    -Brand
    -Shaq

VAs Finest just did, and so do a lot of other people. I'm saying that O'neil is overated b/c a lot of people put him in the same leauge as Duncan, Garnett, Shaq, etc...

Btw... I think it is very embarrassing when Shaq, one of the best basketballers in the game, can't do a simple thing like shoot a free throw. Players like Garnett, Duncan, Olajuwon, Robinson all had huge hands and they are all decent ft shooters. That story about shaq breaking both his wrists and not being able to rotate his wrist when shooting is bs. Look at a slow motion replay of him shooting a FT and his wrist DOES bend back. I just think it's pathetic when someone who earns $20 mil a year can barely hit 50% of his FTs. He is a liability at the end of games, but the most dominating player for the first three quarters. Games are won and lost in the 4th quarter. Hell, i'm not even a pro and can hit at least 70% of my free throws...

Why was this moved to another forum? Sure it's about Jermaine O'neil, but other players are talked about as well.

What about Kirilenko and Nene, I know they're small forwards, well not Nene. Brand has been really outstanding as of late, he's matured and come out of his shell.

I thinkt aht Nene is an amazing player with amazing talent, but he isnt one of the top 5 big men just yet, and kirilenko is in the top 10 this year, he is about number 6 or 7

Jesus, just spell dude's name right already. It's O'Neal, as in Shaquille O'Neal. Did your kindergarden teacher not teach you how to spell an A yet?

Unfortunately, I wasn't told how to spell names in school, only words. Big deal, I spelt his name wrong. Lighten up. [IMG]

EDIT: Oh btw, It's kindergarTen. Not kindergarDen. [IMG]
