MMAWeekly says Affliction is trying to get JLB to sign for a fight with Timmay at Affliction 3. JLB has called out Tim before and recently referred to him as a big ugly guy and a big sausage. LeBanner is 3-1-1 in MMA. He hasn't won a K-1 Grand Prix because of his balls-out style of fighting--he puts everything into every fight so by the time he has to fight two or three times in one night he's got nothing left. Without a cage to press JLB against odds are Tim would want to take the kickboxer down and lay-and-pray for the victory. Does this mean JLB's knee is better? Only he knows I guess.
Despite his recent losses to Fedor and Big Nog, I don't see how smart it is to be calling out Big Tim like this. Dude is as dangerous as any other heavyweight in the world, and as good of a fighter as any other heavyweight, save for Fedor. Tim Sylvia is a bad man, and a good fighter, I don't think this is smart on JLB's part.
This all stemmed from a couple of years ago when Timmy was the champ and Rogan and Goldie kept referring to Timmy as a 'world class striker' Jerome didn't think he was and called him out. Now LeBanner IS a world class striker having primairly fought in K-1 and having beat almost all of the best fighters in K-1 at one point or another.. just never in the same year to win the K-1 Grand Prix. If Timmy stood with JBL, he's going down like a sack of shit.. I guarantee it.
