After consecutive 8-8 seasons and a 21-19 overall record as head coach, some might think the 2013 season is a make-or-break campaign for Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. If the Cowboys make the playoffs, Garrett keeps his job. If the Cowboys miss the postseason for a fourth straight year, Garrett is replaced.

During his press conference to kick off the start of training camp, Jerry Jones said that is not true.

“It’s a mistake” to think that, Jones said. “That’s not right.”

The Cowboys owner and general manager then used Garrett’s time spent working with Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo as a point of emphasis, saying their relationship is something the organization needs to take advantage of.
