I was watching PTI last night and they asked how much credit does Krause deserve for the Baby Bulls? What do you guys think?
He only deserves a little bit of credit for getting Curry and Chandler. It would be more if both decided to actually try other than their contract years. Paxson is responsible for getting Skiles as well as this recent excellent draft, finding good veteran talent, and getting rid of Crawford.
I don't really believe Krause deserves any credit for putting this team together. Sure, he drafted Chandler in Curry, but they did nothing with him as GM. He couldn't find the coach to handle the job. Sure, he had good draft picks like Crawford, etc., but the talent he got never did the job. Also, look at some of the talent he's traded away. Artest, Miller, Brand. He drafted those, but where are they now? Not in Chicago, that's for sure. So, overall, I believe that Pax desereves 99% of the credit for this team. He's the one that went out and drafted Deng, Gordon, Duhon, and Hinrich. He's the one that's kept Chandler and Curry around despite not totally living up to potential til really this season, and even then I don't think they've fully lived up to it. He's the one that fired the disaster of a coach known as Bill Cartwright. He's the one that shipped away Jamal Crawford only to get nothing in return, but the nothing he got, he hasn't even really needed aside from Harrington. He's the one that brought in Scott Skiles to coach this young team and that's turned out well. He's the one that rid the team of Rose and Marshall, neither of whom wanted to be there. Overall, he's the one that's made all the critical moves for this franchise, questionable or not. I think he's the one that deserves the credit, with the tiny bit going to Krause for getting Chandler and Curry.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't really believe Krause deserves any credit for putting this team together. It wasn't Krause's fault he couldn't fast forward their progress. He had the insight to trade Brand for Chandler and draft Crawford(which Paxson used to take out the rest of the trash). <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He couldn't find the coach to handle the job. Floyd was terrible, however. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Also, look at some of the talent he's traded away. Artest, Miller, Brand. We wouldn't pay him, since we had Curry waiting in the wings. Look at the contract Miller got. Would we have paid him that to be a backup? Nope. Brand wanted the max. Is he worth it? Don't know. But we weren't winning with him. Its hard to pay the max to someone who cannot make your team win. Look what he has done in LaC. The Clippers aren't exactly tearing things up year after year. Artest? Headcase. Look what he got himself into. We traded for Rose, who was a mere rental. At the time though, he brought something to Chicago that we needed; a reliable scorer. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> So, overall, I believe that Pax desereves 99% of the credit for this team. </div> I agree, Paxson has done a great job.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">99%??? I think Skiles deserves some of the credit, a little more then 1%.</div> I was giving Pax the credit for making this team. I never said anything about how much Skiles deserves about bringing this team along. Trust me, he deserves a bunch. However, when we're talking about making the team, Pax deserves 99% of the credit.
