Former The Ultimate Fighter cast member Jesse Taylor fought UFC veteran Drew Fickett at Total Combat 32 at the Sycuan Casino and Resort near San Diego, California. In the bout Taylor went for an early take down and scored, eventually pounding-out Fickett and leaving "The Master" with a large gash on his forehead in under two minutes of the first round. Taylor is best known for being the first contestant on The Ultimate Fighter to be kicked out of the competition after the finals had been set. Taylor went on an alcohol-fueled rampage in Las Vegas for two nights following the completion of the taping of The Ultimate Fighter season six, Forrest vs. Rampage, culminating in him kicking-out the window of a limousine outside of Station Casino--one of the casinos owned by the Fertitta brothers, the owners of the UFC. Taylor was granted a match against TUF Finale runner-up C.B. Dollaway months later but lost due to a choke. Taylor was released from the UFC shortly after. Fickett, the heavy favourite in the fight, is a submission specialist from Arizona. Fickett was 24-2 when he first fought in the UFC at UFC 51: Super Saturday. He lost his debut against the uninterpretable Nick Diaz but rebounded in his next two UFC fights with wins over Josh Neer and Josh Koscheck. Fickett split his final four UFC fights with wins against Kurt Pelligrino and K-Taro Nakamura and losses to Josh Burkman and Karo Parisyan. Fickett has a reputation of being squirly as all hell which has repeatedly interrupted his pro career and prevented him from becoming a champion.
