Wow, what can Kobe not do. He's a basketball king, SAT brainiac, apparently good at soccer, a vid-game wizard... What's next?

Kobe spent a lot of his childhood in Italy, most of you know, that's where he picked up soccer.

I hope you're not saying that based purely on what you saw in that commercial, lol.

Also, I hope Kobe wasn't chosen for the commercial because he would be more easily recognized than a real football player like Ronaldinho or David Beckham.

EDIT: Oh, and what's with the Jesus thing man?

I played soccer during school, and it takes skill to kick a ball that accurately from that distance, i'm sure he can't compete in FIFA, but it's not a bad shot.

Lol, he was within the keeper's box, anyone could make that shot. It would have been nicer if they had him shoot it in one of the top corners of the goal.

In any case, I don't doubt that he is a decent football player, after all, he grew up in Italy, and they mention that he was encouraged by his friends to become a goalkeeper in "Beyond the Glory".

Dude, seriously, I could score that with my eye's closed, it's nothing special. The fact that there isn't a goalkeeper makes it 100 times easier. I know 10 year olds that could score that with their eye's closed. I guess we find something like that so basic because "soccer"(I prefer to call it football) is the main sport that Europeans play.

Bro, do you know what joga bonita even is?

They didn't choose Kobe because he's more widely known, they have that same commercial for Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, etc.

No one is saying Kobe is the best soccer player in the world, but that was a nice kick. If you guys have never kicked a soccer ball, don't say things like "Anyone could make that shot without a goalie" or sh!t like that. Not everyone can get underneath the ball like that like Kobe did.

I doubt that was the only take they did of the video, but that kick in the video was decent, nothing to get all excited about, and I don't understand why some of your are taking it serious. It's just a joke.

No, actually I am just suprised to find Kobe in a football commercial, and I think it proves the point that football is the most popular sport everywhere exept in the US (duh), since they have to use a basketball player to sell a commercial. I would rather have seen Nash, because he could probably have given a little better show than that. This is in comparison to the other Joga Bonito commercials.

I just find it funny that some of you worship Kobe for whatever he does. Listen to arre and Laker_fan, anyone can make that shot, and for that reason, the commercial does not fit in with the rest of the Joga Bonito ads.

    KOBE IS GOD OKAY!!

I agree on Nash idea, that would be pretty cool, I liked the Kobe commercial a lot though, but Nash would be able to do some pretty nice moves.

I'm not fond of the Jesus nickname, lol.

I think they used Kobe to show other athletes and their spirit of football. I'd lvoe to see a Nash one.

What's your favorite Joga Bonito commercial? I love the one where the Brasilian players are in their team room.

Yeh, that one is pretty sick. It's probably my favourite. It's a shame they got beaten by France. If it wasn't for the over-confidence and poor defending(especially Roberto Carlos on the free kick) Brazil would have been through. Four years down the line, players like Cafu and Carlos would have retired and young players like Cicinho would have taken over. At least they will be hungry to win, unlike the old Brazil players.

    Brazil Jogo Bonito

Now that is what you call a real commercial.
