Outstanding Article (Player's Tribune): ... http://www.theplayerstribune.com/de...letter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=mlb (cut, sample para') : - I remember Ichiro before I even met him. He was a rookie and the Mariners were visiting New York early in the 2001 season. I don’t recall how much buzz there was around him yet. All I’d heard was that he was a position player from Japan — which itself was a pretty rare thing at the time. In my career there were a handful of great players from Japan, but most were pitchers, not position players. And most weren’t 27-year-old rookies.
...Wow, that really was a great article...thanx Matts. ...I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ichiro Suzuki is probably among the top ten all around players I've ever seen play.
