thought it over a little better, retirement that is.... love you man, everything a bout cha, 1 of the best ever, not the greatest at anything, but the intangibles made up for it... the best go out on top, u r fizzlin out b4 our eyes, u still got some left in the tank, but maybe u should have, could have thought it out a little better, thank u for everything u have done, we were truly blessed by your professionalism, its unfortunate that ineptness all around u has brought all the attention to you in a negative way.....

Gotta admit Pasta, El Capitain has turned into a weak-groundball machine. Still love him, always will.
I guess he's entitled after 20 years, missing a season after breaking his ankle.

Funny thing, even when he was at the top of his game...I always felt that he was forcing hiimself too much at hitting to right field to the point where he sometimes jammed himself.
I would've like to see him pull the ball a bit more. He would've still gotten his 3000 hits with more HRs and RBI.

I agree. Although it's hard to argue with the results.

Pasta, don't tell me you're part of the Joel Sherman fan club. Where were you guys when Jeter was a consistant 273 hitter for the 1st 3 months of the season. (273 April, 275 May & 272 in June)? And where were you guys when he battered near 290 for the month of July? I mean the guy was hitting near 280 on the year as early as August 5th. But now that he's having trouble getting any lift on the ball or getting it out of the infield over his last 20 games or so you want to send him to the bench (sought of speak).

With 20 games left & the Yankees going no where, Jeter's entitled to finish out the season on his own terms. He's earned that right.

yes , he is enititled to that NOW, i don't fault him at all.... he isn't the 1 batting himself 2nd... either way, its a tough decision for a coach to make, but we ain't got 1 with ballz so its moot. He should have been out the the 2 slot for awhile now, just like tex should have been out of the cleanup spot, and while i'm at it gardner should never be in the 1 spot with how much he strikes out, but what do i know.
