<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Corwin Brown, the Jets? defensive back coach for the past three seasons, will become the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, according to published reports. The South Bend Tribune reported that Brown was on the Notre Dame campus Friday and that the official announcement of his hiring was imminent. The Jets? Kerry Rhodes became a Pro Bowl-caliber safety under Brown?s tutelage, and the secondary went 33 consecutive quarters this season without drawing a defensive pass interference penalty.Brown, 36, a former high school star in Chicago who played at Michigan before embarking on an eight-year playing career with the New England Patriots, the Jets and the Detroit Lions, will replace Rick Minter, who, according to The Tribune, was fired Thursday after two seasons.</div>

Not to mention that Rhodes breakout season has more to do with him spending more time in the Film Room and the teachings of Eric Mangini, who managed to turn Troy Brown into a good cornerback.

I mean ND's d-backs got burned vs. LSU, so getting a guy whos turned 2nd day players into what-should-have-been 1st day players may be able to do the same sort of thing better at the college level. Who knows. I'd like to see this work out for ND.
