New York Jets safety Jim Leonhard is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, coach Rex Ryan confirmed Monday afternoon in a conference call. Leonhard was injured during the first half of the Jets 37-10 win over the Chiefs at MetLife Stadium on Sunday when he intercepted a pass by Tyler Palko intended for Steve Breaston, and the Kansas City wide receiver grabbed Leonhard's leg for the tackle. Leonhard went down and immediately grabbed at his leg and needed help from two trainers to walk off the field before being carted from the sideline to the locker room.
