<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Vernon Gholston signed and ready to report to training camp. The New York Jets have finalized a five-year contract with Gholston, the sixth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, according to a report posted late Thursday on the the New York Daily News' web site. Gholston's deal is worth about $40 million, including $20 million in guarantees, and is one of the richest contracts in team history. The former Ohio State linebacker missed the first two sessions of training camp due to contract negotiations, but is expected to report to practice on Friday. The 6-3, 266-pound Gholston, who is likely to play both linebacker and defensive end in the Jets' 3-4 scheme, dominated at times during the 2007 season with the Buckeyes, finishing with a school-record 14 sacks as a junior.</div> Probably one of the more intriguing draft choices..... he has great athleticism and a lot of potential, but is still pretty raw....
