As part of Saturday’s Headlines segment, Elliotte Friedman reported that while a number of NHL clubs have interest in trading for Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien, the Jets will instead try to re-sign the veteran. “There are a number of teams that would love to get him as a rental player at the deadline…but the word that everyone seems to be getting is [the Jets] are going to take a real run at trying to sign him,” said Friedman. Byfuglien is a free agent at season’s end and is currently making $5.2 million against the salary cap. - See more at: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/jets-to-take-a-real-run-at-trying-to-re-sign-dustin-byfuglien/
