http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5166792The Record's Randy Lange reports that the Jets don't appear to be any closer to signing defensive end John Abraham to a new deal. There is also talk that the Jets could solve their problems at QB by dealing Dewayne Robertson or Jonathan Vilma to the Chargers for Philip Rivers._____________________________________John Abraham in a tag and trade for Philip Rivers?
Losing Vilma is NOT worth Rivers, but Rivers DEFINATELY does not belong on the bench... I donno man. You need a QB though, so who knows. Anything can happen in this league.
I dont see either Vilma or Robertson going anywhere. It just simply isnt feasable for the Jets to take like a 6-8 million cap hit in trading either of them. But we could franchise Tag Abraham, and then trade him for no cap hit and get a player like Philip Rivers in return..then the Chargers can sign Abraham long term.So John Abraham for Philip Rivers straight up, do you do it?

I would go for it, you guys are obviously in need of a good feild general, and Rivers is in need of a place to start. Chargers also could use another guy on their defensive line... It works out for both sides and I think they should go through with it if they are taking this trade into consideration.
