I wonder what in gods name does the tenn titans do about kearse, wow i thought tampa had a bad cap problem. Could it be kearse plays for someone else?
Could it be kearse plays for someone else? Eagles??? Need to replace Hugh Douglas and have a mountain of cap space...do they finally dish out some of that dough??
dude i hope. check out my location, ive had that up there for a month. ill take kearse or woodson/bailey and or 1 of the corners and darrell jackson , over duce TV BT or any other FA.
Just one problem....the Eagles dont sign anyone for big money! Look for the "Freak" to join former D-CO Gregg Williams in our nations capitol where Daniel Snyder doesnt know how to not spend money...
tennessee cap is not as bad as the bucs, but it is bad, watch eddie george get released and clear up 7.5 million in cap room i believe, they have flexibility in other places. The bucs set a precedent last off-season by F***ing johnson in renegotiations that will come back to haunt them
Beef, the eagles try to spend money on D guys, especially DEs and DBs. last year they went strong after KGB, vonnie holliday and hugh. this year they will probly go after Ogunleye or Kearse <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>Just one problem....the Eagles dont sign anyone for big money! They show some interest, but in the end, they never pony up the cash....It sux, but you root for a team thats traditional cheap with its own players, and cheaper with other....
no beef, they put out a max offer and try to make the other player take that. they have a budget and thats why their cap is so good because they always keep room. the eagles keep everything quiet during FA, i bet you didnt know they made offers to Takeo Spikes, Vonnie Holiday, KGB, Hugh, Barber, some other FAs to i forget and the scary thing is they went after peerless price so they knew they needed a WR but just didnt get 1
As far as I remember, they never did offer KGB a contract because they were afraid he wanted too high of a signing bonus. At the time, they figured he would want 14 million, and he got 13 million from GB.
im 99% sure your wrong. i rember they offered him a sheet but he couldnt decide if he wanted to leave GB because he loved it there. i rember that <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (LSUpackfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>As far as I remember, they never did offer KGB a contract because they were afraid he wanted too high of a signing bonus. Well, I don't think so. I will guarantee philly never offered KGB a contract, and if they did, well, I don't know what I'd do... OK, I'll take on a Viking avatar and put in my signature that the Bears Rule... if I'm wrong...
OK here is a link from when GB signed KGB...it says Philly was talking to KGB but nowhere does it say that they offered him a contract. http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/clayton_john/1532625.html
i rember they gave him a offer sheet tho, i know he was about to but the only thing that kept him was he was to much in love with the city of GB

Bearsfan you better read some salery cap numbers for all nfl teams first. Thats a foolish statement. Tennesee is at $ 94,500,000 - $16,400,000 take off eddies contract at 7.5 and there still 10 mill over lol. Tampa is at 79,500,000 - 1,400,000 til keyshawns cap hits us at 7.8 mill. Where is tampa in worse shape? Think before you speak. I realize you love the bucs, since every comment you like to remind me of my teams problems. Dont hate.
Back to the thread. Dawk i hear philly has strong interest in kearse according to espn. Will we see kearse in philly? That would be a fierce defense if they did sign him.
Think before YOU speak....When you look at an offseason cap situation you must consider more than just the total number over the cap, you must also consider how many players are currently under contract contributing to that number....obviously, $16mil over seem a lot worse than $1.4 mil over, but how many players are signed?? How many of those players have team options allowing the team to release them at no cap penalty?? I know if the Bucs release Key, he adds $7.5 million to that cap number, so that puts them at $9million over, if the Titans release George, he subracts 7.5 from thiers, so there only $9 million over as well, its not as cut and dry as you think it is, I believe Tampa is in much worse cap shape than the Titans because 80% of Tampas cap is tied up in 9 players next year, no matter what they do....becuase of that, I expect they will have to jettison a considerable ammount of talent, Baltimore Raven style, but theres no expansion team to bail them out and take that talent like the Texans did for the Ravens and Jets, so the Bucs will suffer for it...
80 percent? Name the players that will tie up our cap next season lol. I think thats more exageratation beef. Im gonna sit back and watch what players restructure to keep this thing going in tampa. Show the numbers of them 9 players and how they will eat up 80 percent of tampas salery cap. This i wanna see lol.
you are pretty confident there, we will see though we will see. Also i am not saying titans are in good shape just better shape than bucs, i expect drop-off on both teams, but tennessee has more flexibility and it has better young players, bucs are an older team
here are the top ten players and there salaries already commited to them next year. Linebacker Derrick Brooks ($8.67 million); Johnson ($7.2 million); Brad Johnson ($6.8 million); John Lynch ($6.03 million); Simeon Rice ($5.5 million); Ronde Barber ($4.61 million); Kelly ($3.18 million); McCardell ($3 million); Kerry Jenkins ($2.42 million); Anthony McFarland ($2.23 million)
