Jokes about Game 2 making him want to vomit

Didn't like when Phil put Kobe back in the Game 2 blowout

After criticizing Phil for re-inserting Kobe, he praises Phil for the job he has done this year with all the injuries that he had to face. Mentions that only 19 games had the full roster intact.

Agrees with Daddy Buss that the PG position needs to be addressed, but the current nucleus is a good one. (see ya Smush)

Planned for the roster to grow into its potential when it came to this year. Believes in this roster and the injuries seriously limited that. Doesn't believe in blowing up the roster. Mentions that with time, the team will develop into a winner. He goes back to the injury excuse and mentions that Mihm wasn't even there for the whole year. They "love Chris Mihm" (hello Mihm maybe sans the crutches this time)

Thinks Lamar is a good leader and of course Kobe is. He thinks Lamar was in the "heat of the moment" when he made critical comments about the team not having the right camaraderie. Blames it on certain guys probably not happy with their PT.

He thinks the Lakers would have to explore a West reunion, but he's "very comfortable working with Mitch" and it really depends on Daddy Buss to put West in some capacity with the organization since they are good friends. They will explore it...supposedly.

Jokes about taking part in the "fight night" and would take on Bryan Colangelo since he thinks he has done a great job in Toronto. He would make a worthy adversary. He later jokes that a good matchup might be him vs. his "brother in law sort off" Phil Jackson.

Closes with the Suns fade when Nash does. Believes that the Suns will have great regular seasons but aren't using a gameplan that could bring them success in the playoffs.

I got this recap off of CL. Anyways, this recent interview doesn't get me excited at all. Basically, to sum it up, Jim Buss doesn't believe in blowing up this team, and feels that when healthy, the Lakers will be contenders. That's a completely different attitude and a completely different take on this roster from Mitch Kupchak's interview (posted by shapecity). Whatever happens though, we better make moves this offseason or else I will be pissed. If we come into next season with basically the same, identical roster, we're going to be right back where we are now, 7th or 8th seed getting eliminated in 4 or 5 games (if lucky). Considering the recent improvements to teams like Golden State and Houston, we may not even make the playoffs. You also have to take into consideration that the Hornets were supposed to be playoff contenders before all the injuries, and the Clippers already have tons of talent, all they need to do is get everyone on the same page once again. I really hope Jim Buss is kidding

Well honestly, I agree with Buss. Our major issue is our PG situation.

In terms of bigs, they aren't the best, but I like the sound of Mihm coming back.

    Mihm/Bynum/Kwame

    Decent rotation?

yeah, but is that enough to compete with teams like Phoenix, Dallas, and San Antonio? My biggest fear was that we would blame our struggles on injuries, which seems like we're doing right now. If we come back with basically the same roster next season, we're still going to be 1st round playoff exits. Teams like Golden State and Denver have vastly improved. New Orleans is going to be a dangerous team when they get everyone back. Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio, and Houston are pretty much locked for the top spots. So where does that leave us? Once again near the end of the bracket

It's pretty clear from this interview, that he hasn't planned out anything to do in the offseason yet.. Pretty annoying..

I think he'll be pretty rusty when he comes back, but after about 2 months. I think he'll be back to the way he was playing before he got injured.
