Jim Calhoun won't appeal sanctions

    Connecticutcoach Jim Calhoun said Wednesday that he will not "pursue any further action" concerning the NCAA's sanctions against him and his program for recruiting violations.

    Calhoun, who apologized to the university and his current players in a statement in late February, made his comment about deciding against an appeal after the Huskies' 79-62 victory over Georgetown in the second round of the Big East tournament at Madison Square Garden.

    Calhoun was cited for failure to create an atmosphere of compliance within the program.
