Sorry if this has already been mentioned in another thread. Tension between Buttler and Rose (http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/report-tension-exists-between-derrick-rose-jimmy-butler/ar-BBjVk2m?ocid=UP97DHP). How about a swap of superstars. If LA really wants to go why not swap superstars. Back court of Buttler and Lillard would be great back court. Buttler would give us a good perimeter defender we need now that Mathews is hurt. To get equal trade Chicago would probably have to include Taj Gibson which wouldn't be bad and/or trade Batum for PF. I like Aldridge but really felt like he checked out early in playoffs. Chicago could finally make up for that big mistake they made with Aldridge. Alright rip away......
If LA wants to leave to Chicago and they were offering Butler+Gibson, yes, I'd do that deal. But the possibility of this scenario is basically zero.
I doubt the Bulls trade a young stud SG who can cover the best player in the NBA. Rose would go before him IMHO.
1. It's BUTLER. 2. Butler would be replacing Wes, I presume (Marquette for Marquette) but he's not that much better than WES, let alone LA. HOWEVER: if we get Thibodeau in the deal, it might even be worth it.
Chris Paul hates DeAndre Jordan. Derrick Rose hates Jimmy Butler. My, don't people get tetchy after a tough playoff series. Why can't Marc Gasol hate somebody, that's what I want to know.
Hey, for all you know every Spanish team member wanted to punch that glory-hogging Navarro in the nuts themselves.
I mean when you get LMA its feasible. It'd be like LMA and Batum for Butler and Pau.. Seems like it'd benefit both teams Butler can play SF. Just a dream but trade LMA and Nic and get Butler and Pau, resign Wes, trade Blake and kaman and bring in Marc Gasol Lillard-Wes-Butler-P.Gasol-M.Gasol Not gonna happen but that would be an awesome team to watch
just my opinion but I think Rose and Aldridge is better than Rose and Buttler (duplication) especially in the east. I'm dreaming, but would be nice if we lose Aldridge to get another star player with big upside in return for basically an even swap.
Well, if LaMarcus wants to be in Dallas or San Antonio, the Blazers should look for a sign and trade option. But I think that can only happen with teams below the cap? The Mavs are, and the Spurs could be below the cap, but I'm not sure about the Bulls. Maybe sign and trade LaMarcus to Dallas, Dallas trades Rondo and Ellis for LaMarcus, Rondo and Ellis go to Chicago, and Chicago sends Butler and maybe twice warmed over beer (Dunleavy) to Portland. I, of course, have no idea if this would even REMOTELY pass the trade checker test, but it's not horrible. Unrealistic, sure.
The Bulls will be just over the LT if they sign Butler to a max deal. LMA would need an even bigger contract. I don't know that the Bulls would want to sign a really expensive 30-year-old PF to a long term contract when they already have Mirotic, Noah, and Gasol. I suspect the Bulls intend to make Mirotic their PF, which would be a logjam with LMA. If anything, I see the Bulls dumping some salary to stay below the LT. Taj might go, but maybe for nothing but cap space (not expiring contracts). That's my take.
Also, Rose hurt his wrist in the 1st half and didn't shoot because of it. There may be nothing to this talk of a rift between the two players. Against the Cavs, Butler averaged 21.0 PPG and Rose 21.7. Rose took 4 more FGA. I didn't see that Jimmy was somehow kept from getting all the shots he wanted.
All he does is instigate and grab rebounds. His passing and defense have fallen off, he is starting to remind me of Camby when he was here. If I were Chicago I'd be trying to deal Noah at the draft to Sacramento for their pick and some filler.
5.5 assists per 36. 11.3 rebounds. 1.3 blocks. All about the same as last year. He played 30 minutes this year vs. 38 last. His shooting is way down. He was a big part of the Bulls holding the Cavs to .428 shooting for the series. No, I don't think he's as good as the year before. I don't know if he's done. We'd find out if he took a physical or something.
