I dont know why..but i see JJ as being a Disappointment in his first year i could'nt help myself laughing at the charity game held in Houston everytime JJ went for a dunk he missed.. I think this guy was payed too much money and is not worth that much what do you guys see his stats being? IMO it will probably be something like this: 16 ppg..4rpg and 5apg
Joe Johnson is definitely not a dissapointment. How can it be? They were horrible last season so getting any player IMO is an improvement. Joe Johnson can str8 up ball, he can shoot, dribble, play defense, and create his own shot at any time. He will help the Hawks and he certainly wont be a dissapointment. His stats IMO will probably be........ 19 points 5 rebounds 4 assists
It's a toss up because last year was his first great year and he had all that talent around him. I'll wait and see how he does without a real point guard. I think they should've gone after Ray Allen really hard instead of JJ.

If your a rebuilding team like Atlanta, your not going to make someone like Ray Allen your cornerstone, and you definitely don't want to be giving him max money at the age of 35.
True but he is a proven veteran who has shown that he can lead a team. He will lure other FA's there which would be what they need, not a untested young guy like JJ.
Of course the Hawks overpaid for Joe Johnson, but the Hawks are one of those teams who has to overpay to get talent down in Atlanta. Joe Johnson brings a lot of skills the team was lacking, plus he's very young and has time to develop with the other young Hawk players. At least the Hawks were finally able to attract a big name free agent to Atlanta. I think JJ will find it a lot harder without Nash and Amare drawing defenses off of him, but having JJ as the first option takes pressure off of the rest of the young Hawk players. The Hawks are loaded with talent at this point, plus they can add another key player once they trade Al Harrington and maybe one of their small forwards. At least the Hawks finally have some cornerstone pieces to build a team around.

He's a good player, but he's not one of those stars like T-Mac, LeBron, Wade, Shaq, etc. that can attract players. In JJ, they get a young kid who is only 24 and is still developing. It was huge for Atlanta to get him, because they finally lured someone with all that money.

In the one season Steven Jackson played with the Hawks he averaged around twenty, and he is no where near the level of JJ in my mind. Both are good players, but JJ has so many more aspects to his game. Also add that along with the fact that more than likely as of now they will start JJ at point he will have the ball in his hands most of the time meaning he can get a shot any time he wants. This team has a lot of young talent, but barring Al Harrington they have no one that will become a team cancer should they not get the ball as many times as they want. You think he will be a bust, because of a charity all star game? That is really nothing to assume something on. Not a lot of pressure is put on the guys they are just out their having fun playing basketball. They do not want to risk injury before the season starts so it?s not as though they are exerting a great deal of energy.
JJ is a much better overall player then Stephen Jackson, and more of a leader. When Jackson was here him and Terry took the majority of the shots and ended up going for their stats and not for the wins. You cant think of JJ as a dissapointment already because he hasnt even played a game as a Hawk yet, and he's is a very capable player. You guys are forgetting after the Starbury trade JJ played more than anyone else on the team, he ran point, played defense, and did it all. JJ is going to be good but you cant set sky high expectations just because he's on a losing team. My Stat Predictions: 19.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 5.5 APG, and 46% FG%.
