Just a little rant about everyone's favorite 5 foot 8 point guard. WHY DOES HE PLAY? I know our bench is bad but come on. Barea seems to interpret "playing with confidence" as "hogging the ball with 4 players better than you on the floor" and "driving to the bucket and leaving your feet with no chance to throw the shot up or pass". I personally cannot stand him. Every time I see him play, except for the random 20 point performances, he just seems to be hurting the team more than he is helping. I'd much rather have a true cancer, Stephon Marbury, as my backup point guard. Any opinions? Am I blind?
I can't say I'm a big fan of Barea, either. There are games where he displays very low IQ on both ends of the floor. He also tends to hog the ball like you said, and force unnecessary plays. There were a couple of games where he came off the bench and really provided a spark. Other than that, I'm jittery whenever he's out on the court.
The point seems proven right now as I watch the Mavs-Sixers game. Just a few plays in the first half involving Barea - bad turnover, two 3 pointers, bad foul on Louis Williams, blocked layup, crossed up by Louis Williams, three assists. Can't figure the guy out.
he's looked good from the times I've watched the mavs this year.........but maybe I haven't seen enough of him......
