<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Suns President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo has held "informal talks" about a contract extension over the past two months with Joe Johnson's agent, Arn Tellem. Phoenix's exclusive negotiating rights expire Oct. 31. If not extended, Johnson would become a restricted free agent next summer. "If it does get done, that'd be great," Johnson said. "If it doesn't, I'll keep striving. I'd love to stay here. It's been in the back of my mind, but I try not to think about it."</div><font size="1">-benmaller.com</font> Maybe the Suns plan on keeping JJ,maybe they think he could play well for them off the bench,or he might even be starting.I guess they want to make sure he stays with the Suns before he has the option to leave them team, next offseason.
Very interesting here, they just signed Q to a big deal and now there are talks about a JJ extension, it just doesn't make any sense unless we can get him for cheap and he'll come off the bench. Maybe Marion will be the odd-man out, I mean the Suns said that they will look to trade him after the olympics, but I can't see the Suns trading Marion who can give you 20 and 7 every-night. The only possibity of trading Marion that I see is a Marion for Magloire deal. The Suns definatly know something that we don't, maybe they are trading Marion or maybe they are just going for a deeper bench. Maybe they are trying to make JJ extension even with some other center's so that they can get equal value who knows.
nice i think JJ is the better player anyway...but yeah i think that they can coexist and sometimes be in the game together...they are a great team
If JJ and Q can both cut down on some shots and be team first guys then this Suns team for the next 5 years can be a contender. Besides Nash look how young the Suns are: JJ - 23 Q - 24 Amare - 21 Marion - 26 Wow
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Barbosa - 21 Carbakapa - 22 Lampe - 19</div> Exactly, bottomline is the Suns are a very young team, a lot of room for improvment...
I think trading away Marion for a solid big man is a good idea afterall. This way Johnson and Richardson can both be in the same lineup. If this move is made the suns will be solid at every position.
