I don't get why so many people like him. Yes he is good, I am not denying the kid this but he has no defense and he cannot create his own shot. To me he is a Diener clone. The only way he is going to shine in O-Town is if D12 commands the doubles and opens JJ's shot. Other than that I don't think he was worth it. I mean he was a decent pickup but to me he isn't what the Magic were looking for. This is just my 2 cents though so don't hate me . What are your thoughts on the pickup of Redman? EDIT: Just noticed I mispelled Redick.....

He is much better than Diener and he will improve us on offense for sure with a guy off the bench that can light it up, but I just think unless he plays alongside Ariza or Stevenson(if we resign both) then he won't be effective and his defense will hurt us a lot alongside Jameer. About Radman, I think it's a really good signing for you guys. I remember I was disappointed when we got Turkoglu for the money that we did, because I thought he was mainly just a scorer, but he has become a leader for our team and has improved his passing, rebounding and defense to be more of an all-around player. Basically what I'm trying to say is that you guys probably don't like the signing too much now, but give it time, I bet Rad will make the money pay off playing alongside Kobe. It probably won't be the 1st year, but probably 2nd-3rd year he will have a very good year.

When the Writing Team was making the Mock Draft, the main problem they had was finding a team where the fans wouldn't be angry if he was selected. Nobody really likes him because of his cockiness and swagger so I'm not sure why you are saying everyone likes him. I know that most Magic fans hated the Redick pick at first and now he's growing on us because we are willing to give him a chance.

A deiner clone? redick is twice the shooter, and none of the pg skills, i dont like that comparison at all. I think that redick will be a very good player for you guys. he can create his own shot, despite what people think. He scores better than just bout anyone available in the draft (morrison). i know that college success doesnt mean anything, but you dont just score 28 ppg by running off picks.

He has that Reggie Miller factor about him. Able to just stick a shot and then dance down the court like he just popped your balloon. He knows he can shoot and he isn't affraid to show you.

We all know he's a good offensive player. He will definetely improve our team offensively. You don't have to keep saying that, because we've read it 50 times already and I believe everyone pretty much agrees with you that he will improve the team on the offensive side of the ball. Too bad there are 2 sides. The only problem is the other side of the ball, defense. If he starts with Jameer and Hedo then we likely will be worse than we were last year and the Pistons will have another lotto pick. I don't think anyone is dissing his offensive capabilities. He's a great shooter, one of the best in college history, but it takes a lot to adjust to the NBA level and he likely won't ever start for us(assuming Hedo plays out his contract and Jameer signs an extension). So basically he will improve our offense, but our defense will decline(probably to a greater extent then the offense he is improving). Which is why he just needs to be a bench player that goes for 15-20 mins a night and gets like 8-10 shots in that span for his Orlando Magic career.

He was a SG in college if I'm not mistaken and even when I watch him play he just lets someone else carry the ball and he shoots. I don't think Redmans(Redick) skills will be like Dieners its just that he will play the same, if I had to compare him to an NBA player it would be Reggie Miller. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I think that redick will be a very good player for you guys. he can create his own shot, despite what people think. I also hardly ever see Redick truly create his own shot, like most shooters in the NBA do. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think he's that popular. He is also now like you guys are saying starting to grow on people.

I guess I like him more than I used too but the only direction my feelings could go towards him was up.
