Suns need to put Joe Johnson back on the bench and Penny back in the starting line up. Joe Johnson is a good player don't get me wrong. I just don't feel that he is ready to take a starting spot away from Penny. Penny may not be what he was while he was on the Magic, but he is a good vet that make everybody around him better while he's on the floor but most important take a lot of stress off of Starbury.
Exactly, it's just one start and Penny was really affective off the bench. Also, FJ stated that Penny worked well with Zarko so that makes him coming off the bench even better so he can teach Zarko a few things, like how to not panic with the ball as he seemed to do a lot last night...
Aw, the Penny/JJ staring debate again. I seem to recall this subject coming up all last year. My take is that the Suns are trying to put together a core of young guys to contend in two or three years. I think they think JJ might be part of the puzzle at the two guard position. Penny most likely won't be in a Suns uniform when his contract expires in I think two years. JJ if he is part of the core would probably benefit most as a starter playing now with the same guys he will hopefully be playing with when they do hopefully contend in two or three years. Let's face it, the Suns didn't get exactly what they paid for when they signed Penny to the gazigabuck contract. He did play the last year relatively healthy and did contribute to the team. Penny does like to start but has accepted his role coming off the bench. The Suns have such a hard time giving Marbury any time off during games because the offense goes stale. Penny is able to be a playmaker when Marbury is sitting which is very valuable to the team. I am looking forward to seeing Barbosa play because I think he is the one slated to back up Marbury at the point. Penny is probably a better scorer and has better court vision than JJ right now but JJ is young and fast and defends better and also can get real hot himself.
Hey, this guy is good. The Suns know what they are getting out of Penny, since JJ is young, give him some time to grow out there. Thats my take on it.
