Seriously. Take a step back for a minute and think... who are these words directed at? "If the club decides to sack me because of bad results it's part of the game. I will be a millionaire and will get another club a couple of months later." Have you guessed yet? Then I'll tell you: the (gutter) press. Here's my interpretation: "If the club decides to sack me" means the malicious press rumours that have circled recently do NOT decide my future. JM's really thinking, please continue because I can take your petty jealousy. "bad results are part of the game" means Chelsea might lose a game or even the Premiership title. Here Mourinho reinforces the point that no team can win everything, no matter how good it is. But what happens on the field isn't a reflection of the fabricated stories in the press. "I will be a millionaire" means that if for some reason Chelsea get rid of him, he won't be upset and will be unbelievably rich. He knows our journalists are poorly-paid and many of them can't even afford their own property in London. This is an invite to write more nonsense because whatever happens he either continues as a successful manager or he leaves with money they (the journalists) can only dream of. A win-win situation for Mourinho. "I will get another club a couple of months later." The final Mourinho blow to the journalists. It means that when I feel ready I can pick and choose where I want to work, which will probably be at one of Europe's biggest clubs. More money and success for me, and nothing for you to write about because I'm no longer in Britain. And before anyone dives in with "You're reading into that too much, mate", think about it. A man so fond of psychology and 'The Art of War' chooses his words for maximum effect. Don't believe me? Go read some books on psychology.
