when reggie retired i remember reading some where that larry bird had called jermaine out. That he had challenged him to take control of the team and basically become the new no 31. now by that i dont mean take his place i dont think anyone could do that, but i mean become the go to guy. the player people look too when the team is in need of motivation. For many that may have been hard to swallow. To make such a drastic change is not easy, not that jo was a terrible leader last year but not many can do what reggie did for so many years and with the amount of dignity and grace he did it with. However credit has to be given to jo the whole bringing the team in early to start practice some three weeks before other teams did was simply genis, something that the great 31 would have done himself.this to me was the perfect move to asure fans and larry himself that the team spirit and general attitude were in the right place.judging by the result, that is all players except tins and anthony (for personal reasons) were present and ready to train. i as well as many journalists can see now that jermaine is taking well to this leadrship role, sure some may say that its too early to say but I for one cant wait to see if this translates to the same kind of leadership on the court.peace out!
