This guy is having an amazing tourney so far. He currently has 16.5 pts, 7.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4.5 blocks in their 2 games and he's 6'11 C. Draft Express has him going Top 5. What do you guys think about him? Where do you think he will get drafted? Do you think he will leave UF?
I'd like to see him stay another year. I'm not sold on Noah yet, because I want to see what he can do as the #1 option at UF. Right now he's a great role player for the Gators, but I don't see how scouts can project him the top 5 at this point. When you're drafting in the top 5, you're looking for a franchise player or a can't miss superstar. I don't think Noah has proven he's either one of those yet.

They are all like brothers. 4) He knows that they have something special and could win a National Championship if he stays. 5) He knows he needs another year to develop and he loves Billy Donovan. After I say all that though, the Gators don't really have a #1 option per say. Any of our starters can be the #1 option on any given day. He just needs to bulk up and refine his skills to be more consistent.
We've discussed this, so you know what I think, however, the last 2 weeks people and scouts have been screaming Top 5, Top 3, #1! I know it's not financial, however, if you are Top 5, it's ok to go. Don't feel bad. He does need to add about 15-20lbs, however, an NBA trainer will mold his ass quick. It's time young fella, it's time!
GTown is going to be a good barometer for Noah. The Hoyas have a lot of size in the post and play very physical.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">GTown is going to be a good barometer for Noah. The Hoyas have a lot of size in the post and play very physical.</div> ...and Noah put up still some big numbers. Not as big as the rest of the tournament, but 15 and 10 boards is impressive against, like you said a big, physical Georgetown team. G'Town was a good barometer for Noah just like LSU was a good barometer for Redick. LSU is athletic, something JJ will see night in and night out in the NBA going against the likes of Ron Artest, Andre Iguodala, Bruce Bowen, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and AK47. If I were a scout I'd pull out the LSU game film and decide not to pick Redick, as soon as scouts do that you'll see his stock start to drop.
Now it will be interesting how much Noah dominates Nova, him and Horford should have monster games against them with smaller guys guarding them. We need them to play to their size to have any chance against Nova.
He had a decent 21 pts 15 boards and 5 blocks. And to think that me and my friend were talking about how he wasn't having a good game with like 8 mins left.
I really dont like him. His Free throw shooting (curving the ball to the left) needs to be fixed. His ability to block shots is amazing, but other than that he is nothing special. Maybe if he stays another year, he can get used to his new found offensive skill and so on, but right now teams will only draft him to take a chance.

He's gonna be the JJ redick if he stays in the fact that everyone will hate him. He is a great ballhandler and a great passer for his frame. He is the ultimate weapon against a press, because he almost always makes a good decision and has the ability to bring the ball up the court and all you have to do is lob it to him on the inbounds. He needs work on his low post game, but he will do that once he bulks up. His face up game is pretty good as it is, but he does need to change his jump shot/ft mechanics. I hope he does stay another year, because he is going to be a stud next year. He just has willed us to the Final 4 and winning the SEC tournament this year.
If we don't win, he will be back, if we do win, he will consider leaving, but I think the opportunity to repeat with his 3 best friends where he is a legend and an icon at UF will make him stay at UF.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">March 28, 2006 -- Before facing the Timberwolves, Knicks rookie David Lee spent Saturday with his former Gators teammates in a Minneapolis hotel, as they prepared for an Elite 8 showdown vs. Villanova. Lee has remained close to Florida's 6-10 sensation Joakim Noah. In fact, Noah's French mother, Cecilia, who lives in Brooklyn, has the key to Lee's pad in Gainesville, where she crashes when in town for a game. Lee, who left Florida after his junior year, believes the sophomore Noah will stay put, though the Brooklyn resident has played his way into the lottery. Noah is the son of French tennis star Yannick Noah. "From the conversations I've had with him, I think he'll stay," Lee said. "He loves college, loves his teammates, loves it down there in Florida. But a lot will depend on what happens this weekend. He'll be a heckuva player if he comes out or stays." Inside the Knicks locker room at Target Center Sunday, after the loss to the Wolves, a large-screen TV was tuned to the Florida-Villanova game staged two miles away. Lee was in front of the screen, arms raised, whooping it up as the Gators dominated the glass vs. Villanova. "We got the size," Lee shouted. It was ironic. Lee could have easily been at the Metrodome, vying for a Final Four berth had he stayed for his senior year. Lee, selected with the 30th pick of the first round, is finishing out a promising rookie year on a 19-50 club, the Knicks playing out the string to the franchise's most disastrous season. </div> Lee Thinks Noah Will Stay Put I think Noah is going to declare, but not sign with an agent and leave the window open to return.
Here's another article about Noah.... I will quote some of the good quotes. http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...324/1002/sports <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Noah not too comfortable in spotlight BY DAVID JONES FLORIDA TODAY Related news from the Web Latest headlines by topic: • LSU Tigers NCAA Basketball • Sports • NCAA Basketball • University of Florida NCAA • Louisiana State University NCAA • NCAA Sports • Florida Gators NCAA Basketball • Games Powered by Topix.net ADVERTISEMENT MINNEAPOLIS - He wears his hair in a pony tail, thumps his chest after big baskets and likes to say funny things that catch the attention of media and opponents. But those who know Joakim Noah best actually believe Florida's 7-foot sophomore forward feels a little embarrassed about being the focal point of extra attention during the Gators' march to the Final Four.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"He gets bothered at a lot of the attention, or (that) people want to talk to him because it is a unique story," Gators coach Billy Donovan said. "It is a unique family. He worries about getting too much attention and taking away from the rest of the guys. . . . He doesn't want that." Donovan said that Noah doesn't "like all this. He is more concerned about letting everybody get a little attention."</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As for Noah's sometimes-wild emotional displays, Rodhe laughed and said he's just being himself. "Absolutely," she said. "He's always been like that. He's sharing energy. I think they feed off each other, to tell you the truth. He gives. It's just his way of communicating with the people." As for her son's future and whether he will stay in school, she responded: "It's not even a question. Yes (he will be back at UF next season)." All-SEC final? Who would have thought just a few weeks ago there would be a good chance LSU and Florida could meet in the national title game?</div>
Here's an article with direct quotes from Noah.... http://www.alligator.org/pt2/060329hoops.php <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NBA not on Noah's mind with Final Four looming By DAN TREAT Alligator Staff Writer Kristin Nichols / Alligator Staff Joakim Noah wanted to make one thing very clear Tuesday afternoon: The NBA is not in the forefront of his thoughts right now. "I think if anybody on this team thought about the NBA, at this point right now, it would be the most selfish thing and the most disappointing thing," he said. With the Gators heading into Saturday's Final Four matchup against George Mason, next year probably shouldn't creep into any of their minds. Not even a blip on the NBA draft radar just two weeks ago, Noah has suddenly become a national celebrity, with some national media speculating not whether he's the best player in the NCAA Tournament, but the best player in the country. "I haven't really thought about [all the attention] like that," Noah said. "Right now, I'm loving this. This is what it's all about." But the questions about the NBA inevitably surfaced at the Gators' press conference Tuesday, and Noah was candid in his answers. "I understand, the NBA is definitely my dream, but at the same time, is that what it's all about?" Noah said. "I don't think so. I love my life right now. I love playing for Florida." In fact, Noah was less than impressed watching an NBA showdown between the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets last year, and bolted in the middle of the game. "It was boring; I left," Noah said. "It was just boring. The game, it's a joke almost. It's so slowed down. I mean, they play 85 or 82 games or whatever, so it's OK, but college is just so fun and it's pure, man. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." On NBA draft Web sites and TV shows, in locker rooms and media rooms alike, speculation abounds whether Noah could be a lottery pick, if not one of the top five picks in the entire draft. "It's a little different for me, because I'm not a kid who didn't have food on his plate," Noah said. "The refrigerator was always pretty full when I went home." While Noah claims the hype won't make him jump to conclusions, he admitted that he would have to carefully weigh his options if he was projected as the top pick in the draft. "It's definitely something you consider; that's a lot of hamburgers right there," Noah said. "I think that it's something I'll definitely talk about with my family and with my coaches. But money doesn't buy happiness, and that's the realest thing."</div>
Joakim Noah has shown the world how good he is and how modest he is as well. I'm glad that Horford, Noah and Brewer have all said that they aren't leaving because this is going to be a good team for at least another season. Gators tried to get me to follow this team earlier this year but I couldn't get as excited as I had hoped. Now that this team has reached the Final Four and I recognize all of the players, I'm really pumped up. I know that sounds like I'm a bandwagon fan but people here in Florida are getting really excited and I'm right there with them. GO GATORS!
He struggled against George Mason with only 12 pts 8 boards and 4 blocks(all below his tourney avg) on 5-11 shooting. It's gonna be interesting how he performs against Hollins and Mbah Moute in the championship.
Well he set the record for most blocks in a title game IN THE FIRST HALF with 5, he only got 1 in the 2nd half because UCLA was scared to shoot near him. He also put up 16 and 8 and 3 assists to go with his 6 blocks and 2 steals. He also shot 7-9 from the floor. It's gonna be interesting to keep up with his story to see if he decides to come back or if the pros is too good to pass up.
Joakim Noah reminds me a lot of Kirilenko. They have similar frames, and both move around the court like guards.
