I'm currently in a Sports Writing/Management class at my school and one of our major assignments is to do a job shadow of someone working in sports and write a report on the experience, what you learned, etc. A job shadow is basically following someone around and watching how they do their job. My teacher has informed me that most people are very open to letting students shadow them.

I thought I would post this to get some thoughts on someone to shadow. I live near Seattle so my choices can include any Seattle sports team or a writer for a newspaper. I was thinking about the Sports Information Director for the Washington Huskies or maybe try to shadow a Sonics assistant coach or someone else with the team. The Sonics one would probably be a more fulfilling experience but the Huskies one is more of a realistic job for me.

Who would you all choose to shadow if you were in my position? Theres really no wrong choice.

I speak to Kevin Pelton, who is the head writer for the Sonics' official website, on a regular basis. I could talk to him about if you like, and/or give you his AOL address?
