We all know that Joba wasn’t the best starting pitcher this year and the New York Yankees don’t trust him to start in the post season. Why not put him in the bull pen for the playoffs? Don’t keep him off the roster.

Imagine the Yankees with Joba, Hughes and then Mariano in the post season? I believe Joba could get his relief pitching dominance back because he could go back to two pitches and not worry about saving energy. Just step back and release it baby.

The game would be shortened and it would make it easier for Yankee post season success.

Burnett pitches five innings, gives up four runs. Yankees score five runs. Then comes in Joba Chamberlain for the sixth inning. Phil Hughes for the seventh and eighth. Mariano Rivera for the ninth. Game over. The games would be reduced to five innings.

    I like the idea.
