Phoenix guard Joe Johnson was injured in Game 2 Vs. Dallas after taking a nasty fall on his face. He was fouled by Jerry Stackhouse who appeared to be going after the ball. (He actually blocked the ball) Johnson got 6 stiches and fractured a bone near his left eye. TNT reported that Johnson will definitely miss Game 3 maybe more. He was diagnosed with a mild concussion and a fractured orbital bone and was to remain hospitalized overnight. A CAT scan came back negative, the Suns said. Johnson, a fourth-year guard, has not missed a game over the past three seasons. Hopefully for the Suns he will be ok soon. LINK http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2005...tory?id=2058372
Clean block by Stackhouse, that ended up in a bad fall for Johnson. I wish Joe Johnson the best, and hope he gets back in this series. These two teams are too exciting not to have their full compliment of players. I'm a Mavs fan, but I'm also a fan of good basketball, and these two teams are playing ball in a way the NBA can be proud.

Stack hit into him in the air and his arm smacked Joe Johnson. It wasnt a dirty play but it was by no means a clean block.
I think it was a clean block too. I mean, it was just bad luck. I don't think Stackhouse meant to hurt him. I hope Jo can come back quickly. He's a strong guy, and I think he will.
The injury looked very nasty from my view of it, but Joe is a very tough player and as you said Heatfan he has not missed a game in three seasons, he is either a warrior or just one of those guys that doesn't get hurt. Could be a big lose if he is out for long, but I think he will tough it out and play.
Stackhouse did give JJ a hard foul, but he was trying to make a play on the ball and unfortunately for JJ he couldn't keep his grip on the rim and did a face plant. I think the hardest thing is going to be the swelling around his eye after taking that fall. It will take a few days for it to go down, and it's going to be very sensitive around the bump. I think the Suns really missed his presence last night. He's the secondary ballhandler for them, and he would have been a better defensive option to guard Quis. I like Barbosa, but he's still a little too, under control for the playoffs. He made a lot of mental mistakes and allowed Quis to take inside the paint too, easily.

Now, I agree the result of the block looked like a foul since his momentum pulled his grip off the rim, thus resulting in face plant, but from the replay I saw it looked clean.
It was a clean block guys. The East Valley Tribune said that he would miss at least 2 games. We don't miss much except for the defense, Jim Jackson will fit in the starting lineup nicely.
I'm a Suns fan and I'm saying it was a clean block. He just lost his grip on the rim. He was going as fast as he could so his momentum carried him.
It was a clean block, a hard block...very aggressive play, but a clean block. It looked a lot worse than the actual play was because of the impact. The block was clean, Joe just lost grip of the rim because of his momentum and hit the floor hard...that simple.
It may have been a clean block it may not have, but 2 games that sucks, but what sucks the most is that the MAvs are going to lose 3 striaght, why you ask? Well its simple you ticked off the team and now they want revenge, but hopefully they do it constructively! BTW - I missed it, stupid night school!!!!
East Valley Tribune now says 3 games, but I think they can win. Did you see how much more energy they had in the 3rd once JJ got injured? They will win for him.
I'm not a fan of Stackhouse, but it wasn't at all his fault. I've only seen one angle, but it was a line ball decision on whether it was a block or foul. Certainly wasn't a flagrant foul, just an unfortunate incident
Now JJ is gone until game 6, 7, or the next series. Oh well, no problem they killed the Mavs in Game 3 and will do it again.
