So there is an immense level of talent at the 205-lbs division in the UFC right now and sorting out who gets a shot at Rampage (following his fight with Forrest Griffin) is no easy task. Here is what the UFC is up to:

Keith Jardine (6) vs. Wanderlei Silva (5) (UFC 84)
Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida (4) (UFC 84)
Chuck Liddell (3) vs. Mauricio Rua (2) (UFC 85)
Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva (UFC 85)
Quentin Jackson (1) vs. Forrest Griffin (UFC 86)

So who will be the next number one contender?

IMO, if Liddell and Jardine win their fights, they will have a rematch and the winner will get Rampage.

IMO Machida if he wins is the most deserving, but he won't sell PPV's.
Chuck rematching Rampage or rematching Jardine will. Chuck vs anyone will sell.
Chuck's getting up there so he won't have to wait too long for another title shot.
if either loses and the other wins, they winner gets a shot.
Imagine if Forrest wins and Chuck wins?
    TUF1 coach vs TUF1 champ!
