________________________ It's funny. I would look at Drew with his lefty swing at the Stadium and I kinda expected him to pop a few homers and bat .260-270 It just isn't happening and now I wouldn't be surprised if it never happens. This guy isn't much better at getting results than a pitcher. I wonder if he can SAC BUNT as well as your average N.L. Pitcher?
...pointing to a part time fringe player as somehow being a big offensive problem...lol ...the poor performance of the 4-5-6 spots in the order are by far the bigger problem, and have been all year. If someone had said at the beginning of the season that Ellsbury would be having an off year but would still be leading the team in RBIs in September, they would have been laughed at.
Yep- yer right.... Amazing too, how a Class A+ minor leaguer can be successful at lower (almost non-pertinet) levels of play, yet go on to become flops....Drew hit .389 in 38 games in Lancaster, looked like he'd be a Big Leaguer....NOT...! Altuve hit .276 in 31 games, Jose was a defensive gem in LandScatter.... Thus one can never bank on a Minor Leaguer's performance in all cases, in some sure, but not in all cases.... Seen some flame throwers, and offensive beasts, here in Lancaster, only to go on to remain a life long Minor Leaguer, ie, Jose Cruz Jr., Koby Clemens.....Steve Chilcotte, et al. tons of others, became flops, few went on to infamy, very very few....oh well...! Then we got Mike Trout, .306 in 50 games, was nothing special with Rancho Cucamonga (CA. Lg.)...one of the few to become more than notable, a prodigy in the making only 4 years ago.... Trout caught on Fire, in AA, then AAA....holy cow did he ever.. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=trout-001mik
