Inconsequential. It's an inconsequential pick up for an inconsequential team during an inconsequential season. However, the "good news" for the MM crowd is that it likely puts even more pressure on Nate to perform with this squad, and that the results of the second half will more directly influence his job retention next year.
Nice pickup! I think Armon will be cut. Regardless of what has happen, Greg has value in this league. We can sign and trade him possibly this summer. Joel will bring some much needed rebounding help and toughness. I am a fan that does not want to tear this down and start over. Plus he can hit that 3 consistently, which will open up the middle for LA right?
only way I can try to spin this positively is if it means we will actively try to deal Camby and perhaps other pieces for a good piece, so Joel is insurance, I hold out little hope for that however
Good news, despite rumors to the contrary by some around here. Having another 7-footer to put in the roster when Camby goes out should provide much needed help with rebounding, shot-blocking, and setting picks.
We have plenty of players that are contributing nothing, so Joel will atleast contribute something. I like it even if he just sits on the bench.
I hate to be positive, because the team gives me little hope for the rest of the year. But I have a glimmer of hope that Joel will just be a presence in the locker room. There are enough guys still with this team that played in Portland with Joel and know Joel's place with the team. He was a great teammate, always has his mates' back, won't take shit from the other team, and certainly won't allow divisive attitudes in the locker room. To me, this team really needs a presence like that. I really don't think we have it. So Joel, I welcome you back! Fuck the haters (and the message board rejects at S2).
