QB Joey Harrington is close to a two year deal with the Miami Dolphins. If this goes through this will be a good pickup because Culpepper knee is not 100%, and Harrington can be an insuarance policy
Harrington to Miami? The Lions want a 6th round pick which Miami doesn't have. I'm going to say a conditional 6th in 2007 which may be upgraded to a 5th. I get the impression the Daunte is about 80-85%.
Thats a good trade. If Cullpeper takes a big hit then maybe Marrignton can come in and not suck it up like some backup QBs.
Latest rumor is Miami will send a 2007 4th round pick to Detroit for Harrington and a pick (5th or 6th) this year.

We all saw how he played at 100% with Moss gone last year. As for Joey "Princess" Harrington, he Tom Couch all over again. We all saw how long Couch lasted after he left the Browns. Here's a snipit from the Detroit Free Press: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"The feeling is that (Culpepper's) injury is more serious and Culpepper is new, so that could give Harrington more of a chance to play," the source said. "... He's looking for the best chance to get out there, do a good job and then hit the market a year from now if he can do that." The Dolphins do sound like the way to go. <u>We still owe them one for letting Scott Mitchell come to Detroit.</u> And if Joey ends up in Miami, he also gets to come home to Detroit for Thanksgiving this season.</div> I hope this happens ... and if we actually get something for this bum I'll lose a bet ... but it will be worth it just to tease badadder and Dale. LOL!

A FORTH ROUNDER?!!! OMG!!! IF THIS HAPPENS MATT MILLEN IS GM OF THE YEAR IN 2006!!! LMAO!!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zackman)</div><div class='quotemain'>I say Culpepper's a huge risk. It wasn't the same offense in Minny last year before DC went down. It is the exact same scheme In S Fla this year. Orlovsky IMO is the answer @ QB for the Lions.

Miami gives up a pick next yr & in return gets JH and a 2nd day pick this year. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>Latest rumor is Miami will send a 2007 4th round pick to Detroit for Harrington and a pick (5th or 6th) this year.</div>
I think harrington can be a succesful QB in NFL. He has the talent, but look at what he had to work with in detroit. Coach didnt want him, GM couldnt get good talent on field with him, WR who dont run routes, RB who is so inconsistent, and a BAD OL. If he gets to start season cuz of culpepper injury, i wouldnt be surprised if he holds it for a while.

Easy DPG - Zackman's been around here for a long time... Its a good pickup for Miami. A lot of GM's liked Joey's potential, and they still think he can play. As a backup QB he might find the perfect role. Pepp will probably not be back for the season opener, so this is a good insurance policy. Plus, if Miami likes what they see in Harrington, then he becomes nice trade bait.
I am not crazy about Harrington, but, will trust Saban on this. JH does have one plus. He beat Feeley out for the starting job at the U of Oregon.

It's true that Harrington has played very well about every 8th game, but I say every NFL QB could produce twice if they were allowed to start 16 games in a season. My main problem with her is that she's clearly scared in the pocket even when the protection is good or decent. I've seen her fall to her knees many times without even being touched. I'm miffed why everyone thinks this would be a good pick up. While I agree that there's always a chance that a QB that fails early in their career can rebound, I honestly don't believe the "Princess" has anywhere near the toughness to be an NFL QB. I would take another chance on Tim Couch before I'd pay Harrington 2 million a year to be a back-up, let alone give up <u>anything</u> for her. Miami should have re-signed Gus Ferrote, he's a perfect back-up and well worth 2 million per year in my opinion.

Joey "The Bust" is nothing more than a backup in this league and isn't worth trading away draftpicks for.
First off i dont like Harrington or anyone who came out of Tedfords college system (Akili Smith, Kyle Boller, Aaron Rodgers), but in his defense... who was the last quarterback to have success in detroit????

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (porky88)</div><div class='quotemain'>Who was the last QB to have sucess after leaving Detroit? (Serious question) I'm drawing a blank on that..</div> It was Earl Morrall. The Michigan State alum followed Lions assistant coach Don Shula to Baltimore when he got the Colts head job. Morrall played QB in Super Bowl three vs. the Jets for Shula. Shula then brought Morrall with him to Miami where Morrall won an NFL MVP award and won a Super Bowl.
Joey can be a very good QB if someone has confidence in him... But no he has a few bad games, WR drop passes or don't even try *cough* Roy Williams *cough* oh yea whats his name charles Rogers there was a good waste of a pick.. Kevin Jones.. oh yea next barry sanders? don't think so not even close... Jeff Garcia couldn't get the job done in harringtons abscense... Harrington will do fine with recivers who are willing to go up and get the ball.. Chambers.. oh and Miami Has a running game in ronnie brown.. Look at jake plummer shines in denver with the right weapons.. and i feel harrington is the same

Kramer lead the Bears to a playoff appearance in 1995 and had a fantastic seasons as you will see below: 60.3% completions 3838 yards 29tds 10ints by NFL standards, thats a dynamite season from your QB....
