Um, he has the continent first, and specific sites within that continent follow. You have yours flipped. In other words, his specifies while yours is clutter.
maxiep is referring to the "to Nairobi and Kenya" part. Nairobi is a city in Kenya, the capital, in fact.
Oooooooooooo! I was thinking about the continent and not the specific qualifiers that followed. Silly Canzano! MaxieP for life!
I travel a lot - for both work and pleasure - and the best trip of my life has probably been to Kenya. It was fantastic, educational, inspirational and just plain fun. To be honest, however, Nairobi and Kenya makes sense to me - Nairobi to Kenya is a little bit like New York to the US - as far as I am concerned. Yes, it is in Kenya - but it is so different than just about any other place in that country - that I can understand the reference. Best part of Kenya, for me at least, was the Masai Marra, Mombasa and Lamu. Nairobi is very different and "cosmopolitan" - as much as a big city where no-one ever learned about deodorant can be cosmopolitan, that is.
Until she was evacuated by the Marines due to political instability in Kenya, she had the time of her life. In fact, she wants to return and set up a clinic (she's a physician).
If it makes your mom feel better, I have a friend who just left for Kyrgystan for the Peace Corps and he's 62.
That's quite cool. I'm impressed by people who remain that vigorous as they get older. My mom has remarkable energy and does a lot of volunteer work here in the US. I hope I'm that motivated when I'm past 50.
So I have learned two things from reading this thread: 1 Canzano can edit his articles while they're up 2 HE READS THIS SHIT!
