John Mayer delivered a heartfelt speech to Katy Perry during his Milwaukee concert on Saturday.

The "Born and Raised" rocker, 35, professed his love and appreciation for Perry, 28, who happened to be in the audience for the first night of his tour, explaining to the crowd that she was there for him during his year-long hiatus from music after having surgery for a throat granuloma.

"She was more incredible than I ever thought," he said. "She was so patient as to continue to get to know me and love me."

He recounted the time when Perry communicated for him when he had no voice, and how she didn't mind keeping the communication going even when he had bad connection in Montana — where he retreated for vocal rest.
