If they decided to trade for 3rd base he mentioned Polanco and Keppinger. Said they could look at either one of them. Joel Sherman said that Arod thinks he exists outside the rules and did everything backwards. He should have had a union official on the phone or there in person during his meeting with the Yankees and probably not his attorney.
Lilibridge looked pretty spunky during the Texas series, ditto Romine. Also presented on MLB that Soriano was a second choice but the Yankees I guess made a variety of inquiries. On one hand stated the Philies stated Michael young was going nowhere then later switched and said Detroit was interested pending the outcome of Peralta and Infante. Lots of he said she said stuff goes on at this time of the year. I am glad to see Soriano back and hopefully we'll see some more returns as well. We all knew the Yankees were going to scuffle, one turn around would be to get a good game from BUFF this evening.
Pitching has carried the Yankees not only this year, but has also carried them in the last 2 playoff years. Yankee pitching was far and away the best in the 2011 playoffs of any team in baseball (look at their ERA in the post-season), and was more than good enough last year, as it carried them to the series win against the O's and kept them in the Tigers series until this team showed it couldn't score at all. The good news - many of the playoff gaggers from the last 2 playoff years are no longer with the team. The bad news - the guys they have now look even more anemic. Cashman needs to make deals for Headley and McCann. These are 2 positions they desperately need help at.
Vette I couln't agree more. But I fear we don't have the assets. Even the Yankee propaganda machine can't sizzle up anyone in AAA.
