<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CLEVELAND - The reception guard Damon Jones receives tonight when the Cavaliers host New York will likely characterize his current relationship with the fans.

Things were not so rosy during Saturday?s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at The Q. A restless portion of the near-capacity crowd started to boo Jones after he misfired 3-pointer after 3-pointer.

When he made his only three of the night and the fans cheered, Jones covered his ears as if he did not want to hear it.

A sensitive Jones took issue with the differing reactions afterward.

?If you?re going to boo, then boo. Don?t be fair-weather,? Jones said. ?If you?re going to be behind us when we win or lose, you have to be behind us when a guy has a tough stretch shooting the basketball, making plays or whatever it is. So I?d just rather not be applauded anymore.?

After Monday?s practice, Jones said the comment he made was not directed to all the fans because all of them were not booing.

?There were just a few hundred,? Jones said. ?If that?s how it?s going to be, that?s fine.

?I?m going to continue to go out and do the things I?ve done my whole career. That is shoot the basketball, make or miss.?

Jones proclaims himself ?the best shooter in the world.? The problem is he has a lot more misses than makes lately.</div>

you would think that hes never played basketball his whole life. "waaaaaaaaah dont cheer me anymore waaaaaaaaaah". come on dude you get heckled if you shooting bricks on the playground and if i pay 50+ bucks for a seat and your throwing up brick after brick im gonna let u hear it too.

Damn when did players get so sensetive? This league is full of over paid babies. i know we hear it over and over but i miss the 80's and 90's. Players should be paid on performance not ont the hopes that they will be good. But what do I know.

P.S. Damon who were u before u played with SHAQ? Answer me that. Who the hell knew who u were besides ur high school and college coach.

Jones can stop all the heckling if he just made his shots...when you proclaim yourself as "the best shooter in the world", you're only going to be under more scrutiny...

One thing we have learned from this incident is that Jones should never consider playing for Philly. The fans might make him cry.

Well honestly, he has a point in what he's saying. Booing a guy because he's in a slump is stupid. You stick by your players through everything. Clearly thats not the case in Cleveland. I certainly wouldn't want to play in front of fans who only like you when things are going right. Cavs fans more than anybody know what losing feels like and now they have a decent team they are turning on one of their own players, very stupid to me.

^ a big reason why fans are so eager to boo damon is because how he carries himself.. his cockiness is great if he's making shots but come on.. all that bravado and playing to the cameras is just hilarious when dude'z stinking so much out there..

for most of the suns game, it appeared as though cleveland was playing 2 on 5.. if you're a shooter and you can't shoot, wtf else can you do to help the team? cuz clearly, damon ain't doing much else out there..

fans dont owe the players ANYTHING..

come on now, if you play like trash you get booed, there's really nothing new about that, nor is it unfair or particularly mean.

DJ needs to spend less time working on that high cheerleader kick and more time working on his shot.

Have you ever had a job before? By buying tickets and merchandise we are basically paying their salary. If you did a crappy job at work would you expect your boss to be cool with it and just let it go? He/She would probably get on you and say that you need to shape up. That's the way that the world works, at least the world that I live in.

Why should athletes still get applause when they are sucking? You don't strike me as the type who thinks athletes deserve special treatment, so please explain why you feel that fans don't have the right to boo him after shelling out their money to see the Cavs and wear his name on their back.

Damon Jones has played for what, 10 teams? Not all of that was his doing, but he hasn't been anywhere long enough to gain respect that would prevent him from being booed (for example we would never have booed GP here in Seattle, when he came back on Friday with the Heat we still cheered for him).
