Jones to shoot 3s for world to seeDamon Jones, the self pro claimed best shooter in the world, will get the chance to prove himself when he par ticipates in the 3-point shootout during All-Star weekend in Las Vegas. The NBA will announce the field of 3-point shooters for the Feb. 17 contest later today, and according to league sources, Jones will be among a field that includes Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki, who won the title last year over Washington's Gilbert Arenas and Seattle's Ray Allen in the final round.Pistons guard Rip Hamilton said Jones deserves a place in the competition. "If you have a 3-point contest, Damon's one of the guys that has to be in it," Hamilton said. "When people watch him play, everyone's watching for him to put up some 3s."Jones is shooting 40.4 percent from 3-point range, an improvement over last season when he finished shooting 37.7 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. His two best shooting games this season were 5-of-7 from beyond the 3-point arc against Orlando last month and seven 3-pointers against the Knicks in New York. With Jones in the contest, especially with the world watching, there is a good chance he will either say, do or wear something outrageous. This is the same player who wore a leopard sport coat during the postseason and a red velvet sport coat during last year's All-Star Game."No matter what happens, he's going to be funny," Hamilton said. "I can't wait to see it. A lot of people in the league can't wait to see what he's going to do." Link

Seems a little bit cocky if he really thinks he is the best 3 point shooter. Gilbert Arenas leads the league, Dirk has shown that over his career he can knock them down from just about anywhere, and Ray Allen probabaly has the best shot in the league and if he didn't miss all those games this year he would be right up there with Gilbert for league leader. Last year Allen broke the all time record for three's in a single season too.

He is obviously not the best 3 point shooter in the world. Dirk is better, Nash I think is better, Ray Ray is better, Korver is better, and there are others....He is a good shooter, but he isnt that good. Ive never really liked Damon Jones. Like Moses said, the guy is so f*cking cocky.

He cracks me up. I am glad he is getting in the contest, I can't wait to see him shoot. I am glad his jumper has really started falling this season compared to the past with the Cavaliers. Now we just need to get Marshall to hit the open threes.
