I think Hill is a pretty interesting prospect. I didn't see a ton of him this season but I was impressed with his improvement scoring the ball, especially with the jumpshot. At 6'10 with good athleticism and what appears to be a nice all around game you'd have to put him in the top 5 I suppose. I just get the feeling when I see him that he won't be more than a role player in the NBA though. There's something about him that makes me think hes just dumb basketball-wise. He just doesn't see things that most guys see. I think JRay told me he just started playing basketball as a HS junior which attributes to his lack of bball IQ. In any event, I just don't think he has the brain to be anything more than a role player. I don't think his motor is very good either. He just doesn't seem to have the attitude you see in good NBA big men, he looks like he doesn't care that much about basketball though his improvement from season to season would lead you to believe otherwise. I like the DX comparison to Chris Wilcox. Like I said I didn't see a large sample size of him but I don't get a good feeling. Its hard to argue with the strides hes already made at AU though. In most other drafts he'd probably be more appropriately ranked but this is a weak draft where all of the other big men besides Griffin have big question marks (Thabeet's offensive game/IQ, Blair's height, Monroe was a bit disappointing as a Fr.).
I don't really know what to think of Hill even though I've seen him so much. I don't really like him b/c his b-ball IQ is so low at this point and he's already 21 but even when he has bad games, they're pretty good. He looked like shit against Louisville and was playing scared IMO but he still ended up with 14/11. The guy is definitely competitive though, you can't take that away from him, even if looks like he's an arrogant, he's shows up to play all the time. I could see him becoming an above average start possibly on the same level of production of a Brad Miller or Jermaine O'Neal (this year).
If the Grizzlies can't land Griffin or Thabeet, I would really like Jordan. We are a horrible rebounding team and that is the spot he would help us out immediately.
